In Alachua, our Recreation Department takes a great deal of pride and dedication for park landscaping, appearance, functionality, cleanliness, and safety for our children and volunteers.· This lays a foundation for the City of Alachua to provide very high quality youth activities.· Our youth sports programs are at the forefront of our efforts. The philosophy of our Recreation Department is to support local volunteer groups who actually organize and implement respective youth sport programs.· For example, we host baseball, softball, tackle football, flag football, cheerleading, volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc.·

|Baseball||Santa Fe Babe Ruth Cal Ripken Inc||
Santa Fe Babe Ruth was founded in 1986.· The league runs roughly 30 teams in the Spring season and slightly less in the Fall.· Typically, a team practices or plays games three days out of the week.· In the Spring, the league starts the season with a "Jamboree".· The league endeavors to host tournaments for the players to give them the excitement of tournament play.
Santa Fe Babe Ruth Baseball hosted the 12U Majors 60' 2014 National Babe Ruth Cal Ripken World Series from August 5th through August 13th. Santa Fe Babe Ruth Baseball hosted the first National Babe Ruth Bambino World Series in the State of Florida in 1992.

Our softball program was the original Babe Ruth program in Florida.· Our program recently hosted the first World Series in Florida and actually won it!· Also, we had the opportunity to host Babe Ruth's 2012, 2013, 2014 and the 2015 12U World Series with 20 plus teams participating.

Santa Fe Popwarner is one of our elite programs. They play out of the Putnam Popwarner League. Currently, football has 8 teams and cheerleading has 6 teams. Registrations begins in mid April, practices starts early August, and games kickoff in September and continue through late November. Girls Volleyball is a 8 week program played during the Fall season. Girls (ages 7 - 14) Games and practices are played on weekdays at the Hal Brady Recreation Gym, Newberry Sports Complex, or High Springs Community School.

Alachua Soccer League is one of the fastest growing sports in the Alachua area today. For the past few years, the City of Alachua has had the pleasure of hosting multiple tournament for the A.C.T.F.O.R Conference. In the Spring, we have about 10 teams and in the Fall, we have 12.· Home games are played at the Hal Brady Recreation Complex soccer fields. Coed, boys and girls (ages 4 - 14).
Alachua Youth Basketball
Our Santa Fe Youth Basketball Program is one of the Premier Basketball Organizations in Alachua County. Typically we provide 15 to 20 teams per Season. Our general purpose is to provide proper fundamental basketball at a high level for both girls and boys.
Age groups Boys (4,5,6) (7,8) (9,10) (11,12) (13,14).
Age group Girls (7,8) (9,10) (11,12).
All-Star selection process will start in mid Feb.
Home Games Saturday at the Hal Brady Recreation Complex Gym.
