In Alachua, our Recreation Department takes a great deal of pride and dedication for park landscaping, appearance, functionality, cleanliness, and safety for our children and volunteers.· This lays a foundation for the City of Alachua to provide very high quality youth activities.· Our youth sports programs are at the forefront of our efforts.· The philosophy of our Recreation Department is to support local volunteer groups who actually organize and implement respective youth sport programs.· For example, we host baseball, softball, tackle football, flag football, cheerleading, volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc.·

Special thanks to our friends at Dollar General.· On April 7th 2011 Dollar General donated $2,500.00 to our Alachua Youth Soccer League.· Coach Barry, an employee at Dollar General for several years and· loyal coach for Alachuas Youth Soccer League for ten years played a significant role on achieving the donation from Dollar General. ·

Santa Fe Babe Ruth was founded in 1986.· The league runs roughly 30 teams in the Spring season and slightly less in the Fall.· Typically, a team practices or plays games three days out of the week.· In the Spring, the league starts the season with a "Jamboree".· The league endeavors to host tournaments for the players to give them the excitement of tournament play. Season is in full swing!!!

Our softball program was the original Babe Ruth program in Florida.· Our program recently hosted the first World Series in Florida and actually won it!· Also, we have the pleasure of hosting the 2012 12 & Under World Series coming in August. Santa Fe Babe Ruth Softball is Hosting this years Districts @ the Hal Brady Recreation. Date and times are still pending. |

Santa Fe Popwarner is one of our elite programs. They play out of the Putnam Popwarner League. Currently, football has 8 teams and cheerleading has 5 teams. Registrations begins in mid April, practices starts early August, and games kickoff in September and continue through late November. All home games are played at the Hal Brady Recreation Complex "J.D. Malphurs Football Field." Age of participation (5 - 15) for both football and cheerleading... On April 21st & April 28th, returning players can register @ the Hal Brady Recreation Lobby Area between the times of 9:00am - 12:oopm. From May 5th to July 23rd, first year and returning players can register at the Hal Brady Recreation Gym & Lobby area between the time of 9:00am - 12:00pm. Registration packets will be available on April 21st.

Alachua Soccer League is one of the fastest growing sports in the Alachua area today. For the past few years, the City of Alachua has had the pleasure of hosting multiple tournament for the A.C.T.F.O.R Conference. In the Spring, we have about 10 teams and in the Fall, we have 12.· Home games are played at the Hal Brady Recreation Complex soccer fields. General Information: All games are played on Saturdays. The 2012 Season begins on January 7th and tournament play begins on March 3rd. Our Santa Fe Youth Basketball Program is one of the Premier organizations in Alachua County. Typically we provide 15 to 18 teams per Season.
