Commissioner Ben Boukari, Jr., is a lifelong resident of Alachua, Florida.  At the age of 26 he became the youngest official ever elected to the Alachua City Commission.  Commissioner Boukari is a graduate of Santa Fe College and Saint Leo University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.  He was selected as the Santa Fe High School Volunteer of the Year in 2007 and again in 2013.  Commissioner Boukari is currently an Assistant Basketball Coach at Santa Fe High School in Alachua.  Commissioner Boukari works as a local Realtor.

Commissioner Boukari’s public service extends beyond City Hall as he is also a regular at many events held in the City of Alachua.  He serves is the Master of Ceremonies for Alachua’s annual July 4th Celebration, Trick or Treat on Main Street, Christmas Parade and Senior Fashion Show, as well as serving as the Master of Ceremonies for the Babe Ruth World Series.  He also serves as a public address announcer for various sports at Santa Fe High School and professionally at sporting events at Santa Fe College and the University of Florida.

Commissioner Boukari is a member of the Alachua Chamber of Commerce and is a board member of the Alachua Business League.  He serves as a delegate for the City of Alachua to the Florida League of Cities where he served as the 2013/2014 Chair of the Finance, Taxation, and Personnel Committee. He is the Commission liaison to the City of Alachua Youth Advisory Council and is a former member of the City of Alachua’s Planning& Zoning Board. Commissioner Boukari is a member of the Business Community Coalition Public Leadership Institute Class of 2013.
