How do I apply for a position with the Alachua Police Department?

  1. Applications may be obtained from the Human Resources Department at City Hall. Hiring is done on an "as needed" basis.
  2. Police Reserve Officers - Reserve applicants must fill out the standard applications. Reserve officers receive continuous training during their patrol time with field training officers by attending advanced training schools and may be eligible for part-time employment.
  3. Explorers - The Explorer Program is for boys and girls ages 14-20. This program gives young people an opportunity to explore law enforcement as a career path and provide service to the community.
