The Florida Building Commission voted on June 9, 2008 to extent the effective date of the 2007 Florida Building Codes to Dec 31, 2008.  This decision was to accommodate the legislative and gubernatorial mandates relating to energy. If the Commission had gone forward with the effective date of October, there would had been a supplement dealing with the energy mandates effective January 1, 2009 which perhaps may had caused confusion.  They also extended the Glitch Cycle until July 15, 2008, to allow additional public comment and input.
