The Building Department is responsible for providing efficient, accountable and responsive building permit processing and for enforcing regulations governing the building and construction and unsafe structures while responding to the building industry and protecting citizens.  Major duties and of the Building Department include review and process construction permits, perform plan review of construction documents to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and all other applicable codes and regulations, issue building permits and maintain records of construction documents, receive and process inspection requests, perform inspection of active permits to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and all other applicable codes and regulations, receive and process complaints related to building code violations and unsafe structures, issue Certificates of Occupancy upon completion of building.
