The Building Division is responsible for providing efficient, accountable and responsive building permit processing and for enforcing regulations governing the building and construction and unsafe structures while responding to the building industry and protecting citizens. Major duties and of the Building Department include review and process construction permits, perform plan review of construction documents to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and all other applicable codes and regulations, issue building permits and maintain records of construction documents, receive and process inspection requests, perform inspection of active permits to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and all other applicable codes and regulations, receive and process complaints related to building code violations and unsafe structures, issue Certificates of Occupancy upon completion of building.

NOTICE: Effective Oct. 1, 2010, the State of Florida will be imposing a surcharge fee on every building permit issued (F.S.S. 553.721 & 468.631). This fee will be 3% of the Permit Fee/Plan Review Fee (minimum of $4.00 per permit). Please be prepared to pay this additional amount when applying for permits.
