Crime Prevention Programs

E-mail Print PDF

The Alachua Police Department is concerned with the safety of its citizens, not only their personal safety, but safety of their property as well. A number of prevention programs have been developed to reduce the potential of the City of Alachua residents becoming crime victims.

The Alachua Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit is responsible for the creation and administration of crime prevention programs that are offered to the public. Officers make public presentations for organizations and community groups throughout the community, on a variety of topics. To learn more about the programs contact Investigator Carrie Lund (386-462-1396).

Below is a partial list of programs:

  • Neighborhood Crime Watch Programs
  • Residential Security Surveys (programs designed to do a security survey of your residence)
  • Business Security Surveys
  • Auto Theft Prevention Programs
  • Identity Theft Programs
  • Workplace Violence
  • Robbery Prevention Programs for individuals and businesses
  • The Internet and your Child

All programs are free of charge.
