The first public hearing on the Codification of the City of Alachua's Ordinances was held at the June 28th City Commission Meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the James A. Lewis Commission Chambers, City Hall. Public hearings have been held on June 28th and September 13th. An enabling Ordinance will be required to adopt the new Code in its entirety. The Code covers Ordinances that are subject to codification and adopted by the Commission through August 23, 2010. Subsequent Code revisions will be done by way of an annual supplement service.
The Proof is presented in an underline and strikethrough text version, so that you can easily follow the process and determine what text is being added and/or deleted as we complete this project. For the second public hearing, the Code will be presented in final form without underline and strikethrough text. Copies of this background material are available to the public HERE, as well as the public library and Clerk's office.
In response to the public hearing discussions on June 28th and in preparation for the July 26th public hearing, City Manager Traci Cain has provided additional guidance HERE to be used when reviewing the Proof.
