Hal Brady Recreation ComplexThe City of Alachua Commission authorized the City Manager to enter into negotiations and an option for contract agreement on June 28, 2010 to purchase approximately 105 acres contiguous to and west of the Hal Brady Recreation Complex for future recreation use.  The acquisition of this property will provide for additional facilities expansion, ball field development, open space, event parking and much more.  The property will serve as a legacy for recreation for decades to come and thus this property acquisition has been named "Project Legacy."

The total price to the City is not to exceed $1,250,000.00 and the City has a 12-month option period to raise the funding.  The City Commission has stipulated that no funds are required of or costs attributed to the City General Fund. Thus, the City is pursuing multiple avenues to fund the project, one of which is the launching of a fundraising campaign for Project Legacy.  The City of Alachua is accepting donations/contributions for the project.  If you would like to participate in this effort, please contact Adam Boukari at (386) 418-6100 or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots.
