Ben Boukari, Jr. is a lifelong resident of Alachua.  At the age of 26, Commissioner Boukari became the youngest official ever elected to the Alachua City Commission.  He is a 2002 graduate of Santa Fe High School and a 2009 graduate of Santa Fe College.  In 2007 he was selected as volunteer of the year at Santa Fe High School.  Commissioner Boukari is currently an Assistant Basketball Coach at Santa Fe High School.

Commissioner Boukari is also a regular at many events held in the City of Alachua.  He is the Master of Ceremonies for Alachua’s July 4th Celebration, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration, and Senior Fashion Show.  He also serves as a public address announcer for various sports at Santa Fe High School and professionally at sporting events at Santa Fe College and the University of Florida.

Commissioner Boukari is a member of the Alachua Chamber of Commerce, and serves as a delegate for the City of Alachua to the North Central Florida Regional Planning Council and the Florida League of Cities.  He is also a former member of the City of Alachua’s Planning & Zoning Board.
