Robert W. Wilford, has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Central Florida Community Action Agency (CFCAA), Inc., since November 2006. A fiscal conservative, he has routinely taken a leadership role in engaging public, private, nonprofit, faith-based, and educational entities in various economic development efforts.
Since assuming office in May of 2010, Commissioner Wilford has served as the liaison to the City’s Senior Resources Advisory Board. He has also attended the Florida League of Cities' basic and advanced Institute for Elected Municipal Officials courses.
In addition to Commissioner Wilford being selected as the 2008 “Advocate of the Year” by the East Gainesville Development Corporation (EGDC), CFCAA received eight prestigious awards between 2008 and 2010 from the Florida Association for Community Action (FACA) and the Southeastern Association of Community Action Agencies (SEACAA), including being designated as “Agency of the Year” by both FACA and SEACAA in 2008. He is a member of the Alachua Chamber of Commerce and Alachua County Community Transportation Disadvantaged Board and was a former member of the Alachua Charter Review Advisory Board, Alachua County Veteran Services Advisory Board, Alachua County School Board Head Start Policy Council, and the Boards of Directors of FACA, Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association, Arkansas Community Action Agencies Association, and Community Action Association of Region VI (AR/LA/NM/OK/TX).
A U.S. Navy Vietnam-era veteran, Commissioner Wilford completed a distinguished twenty year military career in 1983. He is credentialed as both a Certified Community Action Manager and Certified Prevention Professional. Commissioner Wilford also holds the distinction as a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International for his commitment to philanthropic efforts. He is a native Floridian who is married to Diane. His son, Scott, daughter-in-law, Virginia, and granddaughter, Natalie, who was born on November 29, 2009, reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
